The War on the War on Islamic terror – False racialization of fear of terror

The War on the War on Islamic terror – False racialization of fear of terror

A writer elaborates on: Antisemitism, Islamophobia and Anti-Arabism: The False Link [1], In the wake of 9/11, opponents of profiling have shifted away from arguing against it because it is “racist”, but experts argue that Racial profiling: A matter of survival [2], the Arab world and some of the Arabists (inside and outside Israel) have categorized many Israelis’ genuine concern for their saftey and saftey of their children as “racism”. [3], at the UN’s Durban 2 conference, in on going major attempt to categorize ‘counter-terrorism’ as ‘Islamophobia’, Pakistan’s Islamic group wanted to include even more language to equate counter-terrorism with racism. Pakistan, Algeria, and Iran also wanted the words, “Islamophobia” and “anti-Arabism” to remain in the document. [4]

Israeli Arabs Muslims, often First class citizens above Jews – preferential treatment for Arabs over Jews

Israeli Arabs Muslims, often First class citizens above Jews – preferential treatment for Arabs over Jews

Introduction: Critics point out to the reversed unevenness, some have summed it up in one phrase: “If Arabs Can Live in Jewish Neighborhoods, Why Can’t Jews Live in Arab Neighborhoods?” [1], In fact, many have raised the issue of Arabs not only being equal citizens as Jews in Israel, but often as first class citizens, Arabs, Muslims first class citizens in Israel whereas Israeli Jews are second class citizens [2] [3]

Land issues: an example: Israeli Police evict Jews from Jewish-owned Hebron home as applauding Palestinian Arabs looked on [4], there are complaints of Jews who proclaim that they are sick and tired of being second-class citizens, while all Arabs in Judea and Samaria are treated like first-class citizens. [5], in another case An Israeli Supreme Court ruling did not deny that the land was Jewish-owned, but ordered the Jews to be moved out. [6] In another case, a lawyer for Y. Herskovitz, owner of property in Jerusalem, said his client will sue Jerusalem police for failing to execute court orders to evict Arab squatters from his property. [7]

In court (broader issues), the Israelis routinely decide in favor of the Palestinians against their own government, applauded by U.S. Justice Brennan,[8] preferential treatments to Israeli Arabs, Palestinian-Arabs include steps on the expense of security, such as the ‘Democracy in action’ [9], Israel’s Supreme Court took up the grievances of Palestinians and required the government to move the fence in the area near Jerusalem to make things easier for the Palestinians [10] Even the NYTimes acknowledges that at least [11] periodically, Israeli courts rule in favor of Palestinians (instead of security/government officials).

Voting: the Arab minority are full citizens who enjoy equal rights despite not being required to serve in Israel’s army . [12] and decry: Israel is the only country in the world that endows a community of its citizens with full voting rights on both local and national levels without also requiring them to serve in the army, adding that Israeli Arabs even refuse the alternative National Service. They even refuse a national service in their own communities and exercise intimidation against members of their community that raise the subject. [13]

Employment: Israel has enacted affirmative action policies to help its minority citizens achieve full social and economic equality. [14] [15], in an example: if an Arab candidate received the same number of points as the Jewish candidate, the Arab doctor was preferable, in keeping with the policy of affirmative action in government ministries. [16]

In academia: a professor has written about Israel’s “affirmative action”, quotas and preferences for Arabs [17] Israeli universities… instituting programs that discriminate in favor of Arabs and against Jews [18] and that Israel already has a system in place whereby Jews are often treated as second-class citizens. [19]

Checkpoints: From May 2009, All Israeli citizens – including Jews – must now show their ID cards at the large Tarkumiyeh checkpoint, at the same time, life is being made easier for Arabs in the region – despite the several murders that have been perpetrated by Arabs. The IDF explained that the decision was made to “reward” the Arabs for not rioting or attacking during the recent Israeli offensive in Gaza. [20]

Media freedom: while the Arabs have unlimited freedom of broadcast [21] and the Hebrew radio stations like Kol Yisrael and Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio) systematically broadcast from an Arab point of view, yet the Arutz Sheva radio station, often called “Free Israel Radio” (because it is the only independent news network in the Middle East) [22], has seen restricting steps from the Israeli government. [23] [24]

Access to holy sites, often Israeli police closes the Temple Mount to non-Muslims Like: Temple Mount shut to non-Muslims on election eve – was closed to Jews today in response to Muslim threats of violence [25] and on more occasions. [26]

Aboriginal Jews, Native Jews, their natural rights in their historic homeland VS Arab immigrants (“Palestinians”)

Their fight against the bigotry by Arabism & Islamism who won’t “accept'” them

Israel – Rightful Historic Homeland of Aboriginal Jews

Canadian MP and former justice minister Irwin Cotler: For Israel, rooted in the Jewish people, as an Abrahamic people, is a prototypical First Nation or aboriginal people, just as the Jewish religion is a prototypical aboriginal religion, the first of the Abrahamic religions.

In a WORD, the Jewish people is the only people that still inhabits the same land, embraces the same religion, studies the same Torah, hearkens to the same prophets, speaks the same aboriginal language – Hebrew – and bears the same aboriginal name, Israel, as it did 3,500 years ago.

Israel, then, is the aboriginal homeland of the Jewish people across space and time. It is not just a homeland for the Jewish people, a place of refuge, asylum and protection. It is the homeland of the Jewish people, wherever and whenever it may be; and its birth certificate originates in its inception as a First Nation, and not simply, however important, in its United Nations international birth certificate.

The State of Israel, then, as a political and juridical entity, overlaps with the “aboriginal Jewish homeland”; it is, in international legal terms, a successor state to the biblical, or aboriginal, Jewish kingdoms. [1]

Historical Roots

Jews

Aboriginal Rights to Israel, Aboriginal Native Jews to Israel “Palestine”

There is an enormous body of archaeological and historical evidence demonstrating that the Jewish People — like the Greek People or the Han Chinese People — is among the oldest of the world’s Peoples. Thus, it is well known that the Jewish People has more than 3,500 years of continuous history, with a subjective-objective national identity that, in each century, has kept a link to the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. For example, the Jewish Bible, the Christian Gospels and the Koran all specifically testify to the connection between the Jewish People and its historic homeland. Like other Peoples, the Jewish People has a right to self-determination. Though the self-determination of the Arab People is expressed via twenty-one Arab countries, Israel is the sole expression of the self-determination of the Jewish People, which of all extant Peoples, has the strongest claim to be considered aboriginal to the territory west of the Jordan River.

Thus, the Jewish People is aboriginal to Israel in the same way that, in Canada, certain First Nations are deemed aboriginal to their ancestral lands. And, it is noteworthy that the Supreme Court of Canada has decided that, where aboriginals maintain their historical connection with the land, aboriginal title can survive both sovereignty changes and influx of new populations resulting from foreign conquest.Yet, (bigotry by) Arabs, Muslims have denied that the Jews are a People within the context of the modern political and legal doctrine of the self-determination of Peoples. Keeping in mind that the Middle East has always had a significant Jewish population, including some Jews who, in each century, continued to live west of the Jordan River. Today, many of the sons and daughters of these Middle Eastern Jews are citizens of Israel, where they have been joined by Jews from many other countries. When In October 1917, the British Cabinet adopted, as a declared war aim, the creation of an entirely new country called “Palestine” to serve as “a national home for the Jewish People,” it was done to help realize the Jewish People’s self-determination on its ancestral lands… so was the announcment to the world of Jewish-National-Home Palestine in the November 1917 Balfour Declaration. As the international decision to establish “a national home for the Jewish People” was the sole rationale for the 1922 creation of Jewish-National-Home Palestine which, under the aegis of the League of Nations. While deep into the 20th century, Arab leaders themselves failed to recognize the right to self-determination of a distinct Palestinian Arab People. For example, as principal Arab leader at the 1919-1920 Paris Peace Conference, Prince Feisal specifically accepted the plan to create Palestine as “a national home for the Jewish People” and his father, the Hashemite King of the Hedjaz (later part of Saudi Arabia) was party to the 1920 Sevres Treaty that explicitly stipulated that the newly-created Palestine would be “a national home for the Jewish People.” [2]

One has described a “remarkable synergy” between the Australian aboriginals and the Jews: “The Jewish community is an ancient and oppressed people, as the Aborigines are; we were the indigenous people of the land of Israel who were kicked out of our land 2000 years ago.” [3]

Jews – Ancient Indigenous Natives in the area

There’s extensive research on The Dhimmi: (Indigenous) Jews & Christians Under Islam [4], 850,000 Jews had to flee Arab Muslim lands where they had lived for centuries – often longer than the Arabs who now claim to be its indigenous national people. [5]

JIMENA stands for: ‘Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa’, it is a human rights organization seeking to educate and advocate for the plight of Jewish refugees from the Middle East. Prior to 1948, approximately 850,000 Jews lived in Muslim countries of the Middle East, North Africa, and the Persian Gulf. Today, 99 percent of these ancient Jewish communities no longer exist due to Arab and Islamic government actions that directly led to their displacement. [6]

Jews are a multi-racial, multi-ethnic people. For about 50 years, the majority of the Jewish population of Israel has been Mizrahim – Jews indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa. Moreover, this community of Jews has lived in the Middle East and North Africa since time immemorial. Until the mid-twentieth century, in the 4,000-year history of the Jewish people, Mizrahim never left the region. (When Arab Muslims conquered the Middle East and North Africa, Jews were one of the few indigenous peoples that resisted conversion to Islam), [7]

Arabs

Arab immigrants and their lies about being “natives”

The Arabs in the Holy Land – Aliens, not Natives! [8], The True Identity of the So-called Palestinians. The current myth is that these Arabs were long established in “Palestine”, until the Jews came and “displaced” them. The fact is, that recent Arab immigration into the Land of Israel displaced the Jews. That the massive increase in Arab population was very recent is attested by the ruling of the United Nations: That any Arab who had lived in the Holy Land for two years and then left in 1948 qualifies as a “Palestinian refugee”. Palestinians are the newest of all the peoples on the face of the Earth, and began to exist in a single day by a kind of supernatural phenomenon that is unique in the whole history of mankind, as it is witnessed by Walid Shoebat, a former PLO terrorist that acknowledged the lie he was fighting for and the truth he was fighting against: “Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian?” “We did not particularly mind Jordanian rule. The teaching of the destruction of Israel was a definite part of the curriculum, but we considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then all of the sudden we were Palestinians – they removed the star from the Jordanian flag and all at once we had a Palestinian flag”. “When I finally realized the lies and myths I was taught, it is my duty as a righteous person to speak out”. [9], in fact, the myth of the Palestinian People serves as the justification for Arab occupation of the Land of Israel. [10]

An explanatory film came out to ‘dispel Arab propaganda’, on the tactics disguising the Arab immigrants as “indigenous native Palestinian” [11]

Even Fatah’s Mahmoud Abbas Admits Palestinian Arabs Are Not Indigenous. From a speech given to the PLO [12]

A writer in: ‘The Myth Of The Palestinian People,’ Only one question never seems to be addressed: Who are the Palestinians? Who are these people who claim the Holy Land as their own? What is their history? Where did they come from? How did they arrive in the country they call Palestine? Not only pre-state Arabs lied about being indigenous. Even today, many prominent so-called Palestinians, it turns out, are foreign born. Edward Said, an Ivy League Professor of Literature and a major Palestinian propagandist, long claimed to have been raised in Jerusalem. However, in an article in the September 1999 issue of Commentary Magazine Justus Reid Weiner revealed that Said actually grew up in Cairo, Egypt, a fact which Said himself was later forced to admit. But why bother with Said? PLO chief Yasir Arafat himself, self declared ‘leader of the Palestinian people’, has always claimed to have been born and raised in ‘Palestine’. In fact, according to his official biographer Richard Hart, as well as the BBC, Arafat was born in Cairo on August 24, 1929 and that’s where he grew up. [13]

A writer in “The Real Palestinian Refugees”: Jews have lived in Israel/Palestine for 4000 years and those Jewish families who have constantly lived in the country since Biblical times, the mustarabim, are the indigenous Palestinians. (There has never been a 2000 year absence).

The first Arabs came to the country in the 7th century in the wake of their conquering armies after the death of Mohammed. They’ve been immigrating, and emigrating, ever since, bringing with them their civil wars (in which Jews were severely persecuted by both sides) and their screwed-up environmental concepts that turned forest into desert. Other groups of peoples also immigrated to Israel/Palestine during this time, especially the Druze. (Today, if you call a Druze an Arab, you’ve just insulted him. This was told to me by a Druze.) Perhaps the earliest Zionist pioneers did have to fight Arab marauders and make the desert bloom, but they did not come to an empty land. Maybe it was sparsely populated, but it was not empty of Jews.

In 1920/1. The first Palestinian refugees were Jews. In the aftermath of WWI, after the Arab riots.

In 1922, in a continuing policy of appeasing the Arabs, 75% of Palestine was taken away from the Jews and the Emirate of Transjordan was created, later to become Jordan. First the British, then the Arabs, banned the entry of Jews from the area – a policy that continued until very recently. [14]

Desolated “Palestine” in the late 1800

The Land of Israel, according to dozens of visitors to the land, was, until the beginning of the last century, practically empty. Alphonse de Lamartine visited the land in 1835. [15]

On a visit to the Ottoman-controlled Holy Land in 1860, Mark Twain described it as “the prince of desolation.” “The hills are barren… the valleys unsightly deserts… peopled by swarms of beggars struck with ghastly sores and malformations… Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes… only the music of angels could charm its shrubs and flowers again into life.”

Other writers and artists visiting the Holy Land (chiefly from Britain and Germany) — as well as geographers, archeologists, and cartographers — were equally stunned by its utter desolation.

It was only toward the end of the 18th century, when a growing stream of Jewish immigrants rehabilitated the land — draining swamps, reclaiming deserts, and controlling the diseases (chiefly malaria) — that a decimated Arab population began increasing. The resuscitation of the land by the Jews and the economic opportunity they created brought an influx of Arab immigrants from dirt-poor neighboring Arab states to swell the number of Arabs in Palestine, so that by the turn of the century there were about 250,000 Arab Muslims and 150,00 Jews living there. 100,000 Christians and others was common colonial practice: divide and rule. In India, it enabled the British to subdue the subcontinent with few troops by pitting hostile segments of the indigenous population against each other. They employed this strategy in Palestine too. British officials, many of them avowed anti-Semites, fanned Arab resentment over broken British promises to make the Arabian chieftain, Faisal, king of Damascus and Syria, and redirected it against Jewish aspirations in Palestine. Their naming the mandate over the Holy Land “Palestine,” rather than the land of Israel, was a deliberate effort to obliterate the Jewish connection to the land by calling it by its Roman name. [16]

In the early 19th century, Palestine was a backward, neglected province of the Ottoman Empire. Travelers to Palestine from the Western world left records of what they saw there. The theme throughout their reports is dismal: The land was empty, neglected, abandoned, desolate, fallen into ruins.

In Jerusalem, all reports and journals of travelers, pilgrims and government representatives during these years, repeatedly record the poverty, filth and neglect and the desolate nature of the countryside. Early photographs show lepers in rags and dilapidated buildings. Jerusalem was surrounded by marauding bands of Bedouin Arabs and had to close her gates at nightfall and reopen them at first light, a practice that was similar in Biblical times.

Some quotes from the writings of these visitors before modern times:

Nothing there [Jerusalem] to be seen but a little of the old walls which is yet remaining and all the rest is grass, moss and weeds. [English pilgrim in 1590]

The country is in a considerable degree empty of inhabitants and therefore its greatest need is of a body of population. [British consul in 1857]

There is not a solitary village throughout its whole extent [valley of Jezreel] — not for 30 miles in either direction… One may ride ten miles hereabouts and not see ten human beings. … For the sort of solitude to make one dreary, come to Galilee … Nazareth is forlorn … Jericho lies a moldering ruin … Bethlehem and Bethany, in their poverty and humiliation… untenanted by any living creature… A desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds … a silent, mournful expanse … a desolation … We never saw a human being on the whole route … Hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil had almost deserted the country … Of all the lands there are for dismal scenery Palestine must be the prince. The hills barren and dull, the valleys unsightly deserts [inhabited by] swarms of beggars with ghastly sores and malformations. Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes … desolate and unlovely … [Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad, 1867] [17]

National Liberation

Israel – result of a national Liberation of the aboriginal Jews

Israel can be seen as the result of the national liberation movement of the region’s aboriginal Jews. Liberation of the aboriginal Jews (and anyone else lucky enough to find refuge within Israel’s borders) from the twin fascisms of pan-Arabism and Islamism which have oppressed and even eliminated so many of the region’s aboriginal ethnic groups. Israel’s aboriginal Jews were not unique in accepting outside help (and even immigration) in their liberation struggle, so were Lebanon’s Maronites; Egypt’s Copts, Iraq and Turkey’s Kurds, and Iran’s Zoroastrians. [18], as a commentator said: It is immoral to ethnically cleanse Judea of its aboriginal Jews. as It is immoral to ethnically cleanse Australia of its Australian aborigines, It is immoral to ethnically cleanse Judea of its Jewish aborigines (Jews = originally from Judea). [19]

One major difference between the Jews’ return to the Land of Israel and the restitution of the title that indigenous groups have to their traditional lands in Australia and Canada is that the latter occurred within the political framework of states that have established legislative and judicial institutions and law enforcement agencies. These institutions draft the principles that define the relationships among all of their subjects, and they settle any disputes which might arise. In contrast, the Jews’ return to Palestine occurred in an international context in which such legislative, judicial, and law enforcement institutions were in their embryonic stages. [20]

Fitzgerald: Arab racism & black Muslims

October 23, 2008

October 23, 2008

Fitzgerald: Arab racism and black Muslims

You can find online complaints about Arab racism from black Muslims (or Black Muslims, that is members of the Nation of Islam, who are not considered real Muslims by the Arabs) in this country. Despite the universalist claims made for Islam, it is, and has always been, a vehicle for Arab supremacism. The reasons are not hard to find. As Anwar Shaikh (an ex-Muslim who was born in Pakistan and died in Wales in 2006) noted in his book Islam, The Arab National Religion, the Arabs consider themselves to be superior to other Muslims because they “received” the message from Allah. It was given to them and was in their language. Non-Arab Muslims are supposed to read the Qur’an, or listen to its recital, only in Arabic. Any other version, in any other language, is not the same thing.

Compare this to the missionaries for Christianity, who in some cases became extraordinary linguists in order to study native languages and dialects and translate the Bible into them. And they did this for languages that in many cases had never had a written form — thereby helping to preserve the language for use, and for study.

And when a Muslim prays, wherever in the world he may be, he is directed to pray — it is a matter of fantastic importance — toward Mecca, toward the Hejaz, toward Arabia, the center of his being.

And the Sunnah, one should not forget, is at least as important as the Qur’an. Some Arabs even say that it is possible to imagine a guide to life with the Sunnah alone, but not with the Qur’an alone. Both matter. And what is the Sunnah? It consists of “practice” — the customs and manners of the early Arabs, that is, of Muhammad and His Companions, that serve to gloss the Qur’an. And the Sunnah is derived from two texts — the Hadith, the written record of the sayings and acts of Muhammad, and the Sira, the biography of Muhammad, the first version of which appeared a century-and-a-half after the historical (if he was historical) Muhammad’s death. What matters is not what parts of the Sira were imagined or which Hadith were made up, and by what means, but which parts Muslims take to be the genuine details of the life of Muhammad, and what Hadith they believe to be the most “authentic” in the compilations of the most “authoritative” — by their lights — muhaddithin.

As Anwar Shaikh notes, the Arabs of Arabia needed their own “religion” to compete with, but not to be completely unlike, the earlier-in-time monotheisms of the lands they first conquered. These lands were inhabited by Christians and Jews. The Jews were not confined to the Land of Israel, but were to be found living, and for a long time, in many parts of the Middle East. They were living in Iran and present-day Iraq, and of course in Arabia itself — for how else could they keep being encountered by Muhammad, in Mecca, Medina (Yathrib), the Khaybar Oasis? The Arab “religion” that they created is clearly the result of taking bits and pieces of pagan Arab pre-Islamic lore (the djinn, for example), mixed with misunderstood and misremembered bits of Judaism and Christianity.

This amalgam was presented to the conquered peoples, the Christians and Jews, as not the New and Improved Version of their faiths (as modern Western marketers might have done with a detergent), but rather as something else — the True Version of Their Faith, which they had misunderstood and distorted or perverted. This made it less strange a faith, and those elements of pre-existing beliefs to be found within it, however jumbled, made it easier for Islam to insinuate itself into the minds of non-Muslims who often converted purely as a practical matter. They did so in order to join the side of the conquerors, to be free of the many disabilities that as non-Muslims they would have to endure (the three choices were: to be killed, to convert, or to endure forever the status of dhimmi, with all that that meant). How many Christians in America today, if they had, in perpetuity, to pay $50,000 per head to remain Christians, would do so? For how many would there be a falling off, and how many each year?

Islam has been a destroyer of other cultures and other languages. In a world that worships “diversity,” the thrust of Islam has been to efface diversity. Languages other than Arabic have received no sympathetic study or attention by Arabs or Muslim missionaries — the effort has been to efface the many languages and cultures that could once be found in the lands conquered. There are, here and there, pockets of Aramaic-speakers in some Syrian villages, a handful of Mandaeans and Yazidis (450 of whom were killed by Muslim bombs in the worst act of Muslim terror in Iraq). There are the Copts in Egypt, or what is left of them, they who once were virtually the entire population of Egypt. There are Assyrians and Chaldeans in Iraq, or what is left of them, they who were once…ditto. And so on.

The history of Arab oppression of blacks, whether those blacks became nominal Muslims or not, is too long. The history of Arab enslavement of blacks started far earlier, was much more devastating in its effects, and continued much later, than the Atlantic slave trade. A scholar has estimated that because Arabs specialized in seizing young black males for use in harems (contrary to the Western imagination, harems were not just for the rulers), and would castrate their hunted prey in situ in the jungle, the mortality rate among those then taken by slave coffle to the waiting boats that would take them to the slave markets of Islam reached 90%. See “The Hideous Trade” or google that title and “Jihad Watch” for more.

Slavery is legitimate in Islam. Muhammad had slaves. Muhammad is the Perfect Man. Seventh-century Arabia allowed slavery. Seventh-century Arabia provides the Sunnah, the customs and manners that are to be followed. The Arab slave trade went up and down East Africa, with the chief entrepot for the local trade in African blacks being the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba, held by the Arab rulers of Oman. The Arabs also went deep into Central Africa, and into West Africa too, while the European slave-traders never managed to penetrate the interior, preferring to remain on the coast of West Africa and having slaves delivered to them by local tribes.

Slavery was not abolished willingly by the Arabs. It was stamped out, rather, by Western powers. There is no Arab William Wilberforce. There never has been a declaration, by any Arab leader, or government, or theological institute, that slavery is always and everywhere morally wrong. And there cannot be such a declaration, because Muslims are hemmed in by the Example of Muhammad, uswa hasana, al-insan al-kamil, and the practice of the Sunnah. If the French ended Arab enslavement of blacks in much of North Africa, it was the British — the Royal Navy — that helped stamp out the slave trade that continued between Africa and Arabia. This tale is told most fully in J. B. Kelly’s “Britain and the Persian Gulf, 1795-1880.” But the Arabs still managed, as the British presence on the seas diminished, to resurrect that slave trade, which continued into the 1960s.

In 1962, just before slavery was formally abolished — because Saudi Arabia was not yet rich from oil revenues, it had to succumb to Western pressure — 20% at least of the population consisted of black slaves. For more google “Arab slave trade in Africa,” or start here.

It is not surprising that in Dayton, a Muslim girl might have made up a story blaming black men. Nor is it surprising that the Arabs in this congregation want to move from a black neighborhood to a white one. Look at how unwelcome Arabs and Pakistanis have made black Muslims who wish to attend, in any numbers, the same mosques with them. Blacks are seen as fit fodder for conversion to Islam — without really letting potential converts know much about Islam. The proselytizers hold back so much, until their targets are deeply committed and can’t easily get out. They do this so as to swell Muslim ranks and perceived (and real) power, but are not so happy for the new converts to actually associate with Arabs and Pakistanis, who find such an association distasteful. Compare that with the welcoming practice of Christian churches, not least among those evangelicals who have become the butt of so much self-assured mockery.

Not only are most forms of art — sculpture and most painting — forbidden in Islam (look at any major museum at the “Islamic art” — Arabic calligraphy on ceramic plates, and Qur’anic calligraphy on paper), but it is difficult to conduct science within a society suffused with Islam, that discourages every sign of free and skeptical inquiry about the most important thing — Islam — and hence about everything else as well).

And then there is music. There is no Muslim equivalent to the church music of Christianity. Music is forbidden (Black Muslims in America may at times ignore this ban — one more sign of un-orthodoxy). Wherever strict Muslims are in power, they attempt to ban all kinds of music, the folk-music that naturally wells up, as it does in Afghanistan, because it responds to a universal need that the Shari’a laws do not allow to be met. The wedding-singers killed in Afghanistan, the gamelan players in Indonesia disparaged by local Muslims, the RAI singers (often Berbers) threatened or killed in Algeria — all of these are signs and symbols of the Islamic hostility to music. This does not mean that there are not singers. No one denies that there is Arabic music — that oud, those other exotic instruments, or even singers such as Umm Kalthum. But the role of music is much smaller, and it is despite Islam and its discouragement that music appears. The texts and the spirit of Islam, truly adhered to, would deny a role for music altogether. It distracts, you see: distracts from worship.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe begs to differ.

And in the earlier, pre-old-time-religion phase of her career, Rosetta Tharpe’s performance begs to differ with, and demands to ignore, just as much as does her later work, the hostility to music that is inculcated by Islam. And her many admirers — whose numbers may swell with the two examples of her art posted today — will agree.

Islamic anti-semitic, Jew-haters are creative sorts.
No sooner does one insane allegation against the Jews appear, than it has to
give way for a newer and even more twisted anti-Jew message. Not content with
Koranic vitriol and racism; Arabs and Muslims in the modern age have created
entire industries dedicated to Jew hatred and denigration. Instead of building
peaceful economies, it is easier, at least from the Arab-Muslim mindset; to
build a complex of Jew hatred.

Killing Jews In Israel
This is racism, pure and simple. And despite
efforts by supporters of Palestinian terrorism to justify the murder of innocent
civilians as national liberationor by any other euphemism, this case proves that
the Palestinian terrorists targeting of Jews and only Jews – as many as possible
– is little different in intent than otherr forms of lethal or exterminatory
anti-Jewish murders (I dont use the term anti-Semitic only because some Arabs
claim that because they too are Semites, they cant be anti-Semitic). Obviously
the numbers are different, because Israel is capable of defending its Jewish
citizens, but if it were not, the goal of Palestinian terrorist groups would not
be very different from that of previous groups intent on murdering as many Jews
as possible.
The websites of various Palestinian terrorist groups proclaim –
usually only in English and almost never in Arabic – that they have no quarrel
with the Jews, only with the Zionists. Yet they target every Jew, regardless of
his or her individual political views, and they apologize when they accidentally
kill a non-Jew, regardless of his political views. The racist acts of these
terrorist groups speak louder than their sanitized English-only anti-Zionist
websites.

I have seen so many lies and half-truths by
Western mainstream media exposed in the blogosphere, especially related to
Islam, that I no longer trust them for information….showing how photos
distributed by international news service Reuters from Lebanon had been grossly
manipulated to make Israel look bad. Blogger Zombie argued, in a very convincing
way, that the story about Israel deliberately targeting ambulances in Lebanon
was full of holes, quite possibly a complete fabrication. It proves how easily,
willingly, many Western journalists believe every piece of nonsense Muslims feed

Another myth is to describe Arab intentions as “moderate,” even in the face
of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
A third assumption is the
“fellowship fallacy”-that the Palestinians share Jewish values, goals and
positions. Some Israelis have met informally or in public forums with high-level
individuals from the territories who are connected to the PLO. The Israelis hear
more nuanced statements about the conflict in these discussions than are usually
heard from the PLO leadership. These words are then interpreted as reflecting
what the PLO would agree to in negotiations with Israel. Such was the case after
informal discussions with Faisal Husseini. In October1989, Husseini proclaimed,
“The Palestinian Peace Camp has won, and now leads the PLO and the Palestinian
people.”
In the speeches quoted above there was no doubt that the Arab’s
ultimate goal was the destruction of Israel. The attitude toward Husseini
demonstrated the willingness of many Israelis to overestimate words of
encouragement and to underestimate the contradictory and inflammatory rhetoric
he said to others. This scenario continued under Yasser Arafat whose guarantees
about his yearning for peace would, incredibly, be accepted with greater
credibility than his speeches and statements to the Arab media and public, and
the racist curricula taught in Palestinian schools about Jews and the need to
destroy Israel.

Europeand Ignore Arab Racism
[2006]
A European Union-sponsored
conference on “Racism, Xenophobia and the Media” being held today in Vienna does
not include anti-Semitism on its agenda, despite flagrant anti-Semitism in the
media of some attending Arab and islamic countries. The decision to ignore
anti-Semitism appears to have been made in an effort by the European Union, to
appease Muslims. Since Muslims attending the conference are sure to
dragout their bigoted Zionism = racism line, israel has decided to not attennd
the lynching. The anti-Semetic racism of the supposedly anti-racist
conference is further reinforced by the failure of congerence organisers to
invite Jewish and Israeli journalists to give presentations at the
conference. A report on Islamophobia will be discussed by Muslim media
represenatives.

The Dance of Deception… the real dynamic is that Israel is the target of
highly organized and funded racism. The targeting of Israel is a continuation of
the racism Jews have experienced in the Arab world for over a thousand years, a
racism that currently manifests in the form of organized terrorist attacks,
misinformation campaigns, manipulation of the UN in demonizing Israel, and the
global promotion of the goal of destroying the Jewish-majority state. Part and
parcel to the organized targeting of Israel is the mistreatment of Palestinians
by most of the Arab world, used as pawns by openly imperialistic Arab regimes in
their racist campaign against Israel.
Israel’s economic success, largely
self-generated, is depicted in the misinformation campaign as the consequence of
Palestinian suffering. But the real dynamic is that oppressive, terrorist
regimes, such as the one that rules Palestinian society, undermine the potential
for eventual prosperity. Prosperity does not always depend on colonial
exploitation, and suffering and poverty do not result only from foreign-based
oppression.
Had the public been accurately and historically informed, it
might have demanded that pressure be put on Arab regimes to give equal rights to
Palestinians, as well as women and minority ethnic groups, in their countries,
and to stop supporting or funding or organizing terrorism against Israel. The
public might have demanded safety for Jews who live in Arab-majority lands,
including the Palestinian territories. Activists might not have limited their
concern to those Palestinians who lost their lands upon fleeing invading Arab
armies in 1948; they might equally have demanded fair compensation for Middle
Eastern Jews and their descendants whose land and property were confiscated by
Arab countries fifty years ago. Concerned activists might have organized against
Palestinian terrorist groups, and their networks of support (granted, a more
difficult and dangerous activity than organizing against Israel). If such
international pressure worked, Israel’s existence would no longer be threatened,
Jews would perhaps be able to live in safety in Arab majority lands, and Israel
would have no reason to maintain the occupation.

Colombia

August 6, 2006 ” Bogot᠖ Anti-Semitic and anti-Israel graffiti was found
in the area around the Israeli Embassy. The spray-painted vandalism included a Star of David intertwined with a swastika and the slogans, “F***ing Jews,” “Jews
Nazis,” “Put an end to the Nazi/Imperialist occupation ” Free Palestine,” and
“No more Israel.”

France

November 8, 2006 ” Gagny ” Unknown arsonists set fire to the ground floor
of the Merkaz Hatorah Jewish school in a northern suburb of Paris. The fire was quickly extinguished. The school was similarly attacked in 2003. No injuries were reported, and police have initiated an investigation.

attacked a 13-year-old boy in his suburban middle school, sending him to the hospital. Legal action was being taken against the assailants.

August 2, 2006 ” Saint-Quentin ” A synagogue was vandalized. Panes of glass were broken, chairs were overturned, a silver item of worship was stolen, and a Star of David was covered in black ink.

May 28, 2006 ” Paris ” Members of a black extremist group marched through a Jewish quarter in central Paris shouting anti-Semitic slogans. Police broke up the march. Security was increased in the area.

March 12, 2006 ” Paris ” Vandals broke into a synagogue in the Paris suburb of Sarcelles and threw religious objects to the ground. Police were

February 13, 2006 ‘Bagneux’ Police believe the kidnapping and murder of a young Jewish man in Paris was motivated by anti-Semitism. Ilan Halimi, 23, was found naked, tortured and burned south of Paris after being held for three weeks by a gang demanding a large ransom. He died of his injuries shortly afterwards.

On February 23, French police arrested 12 of the members of the gang. Another suspect was arrested in Belgium. During the investigation police reportedly found literature linking some suspects to Muslim causes and there are indications that the torture and killing was an anti-Semitic crime. Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy on February 21 described the crime as anti-Semitic in nature.

January 9, 2006 ” Cr鴥il ” Two Jewish boys wearing yarmulkes were attacked
in front of a train station in Cr鴥il, a Paris suburb. The 11- and 12-year-olds
were approached by four men of African and Arab origin, who hurled anti-Semitic epithets at them before striking one of the boys to the ground and holding the other forcefully. One of the victims suffered a broken nose. Police arrested four suspects in the assault.

January 7, 2006 ” Sarcelles ” A synagogue was vandalized, with the words
“Juden raus” (“Jews get out”) and “Death to Sharon” etched into the roof. A man later confessed to using an ice-pick to vandalize the building.
